Partnerships and Collaboration

Building connections, sharing expertise and creating opportunities for our pupils.

Stronger together

At Storyybrook, we recognise that strong relationships and meaningful collaboration are essential to providing the very best opportunities for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

As we prepare to welcome our first pupils, we are building connections with schools, professionals and organisations who share our commitment to helping children thrive. We are also incredibly grateful to those helping us create a welcoming, well-equipped school through their generous donations.

Building connections with Hawthorn Academy

Strengthening relationships, supporting transitions and creating opportunities for our pupils.

As part of our preparations for opening, we recently had the pleasure of visiting Hawthorn Academy, our nearest specialist secondary SEMH school, alongside our Behaviour, Relationships and Attendance Governor, Michelle Underwood.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to share experiences, reflect on specialist practice and explore how our schools might work together to support children and young people at different stages of their educational journeys.

A warm welcome from the team at Hawthorn Academy.

We are particularly excited about the potential for future collaboration in three key areas:

Joint enrichment opportunities

Exploring shared experiences and activities that broaden pupils’ horizons, develop confidence and encourage positive relationships.

Supporting successful transitions

Developing opportunities to strengthen the transition from primary to secondary specialist education, recognising the importance of familiarity, relationships and carefully planned support for pupils with SEMH needs.

Professional collaboration

Maintaining an ongoing dialogue between our schools, sharing expertise, reflecting on practice and learning from one another to continually strengthen our provision.

Although these opportunities are still in the early stages of development, we are delighted to be establishing such positive relationships before welcoming our first pupils.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at Hawthorn Academy for their warm welcome, openness and willingness to share their experiences.

We look forward to developing this relationship and exploring the opportunities it may create for our school communities.

With thanks to our supporters

Every contribution makes a difference. Thank you to the schools and organisations who have generously donated furniture and equipment to help us get Storyybrook ready for our pupils.
